ORIGIN OF THE NAME UKA UKA
The great Uka Uka is a videogame character of Crash Bandicoot's series, being his best antagonist along with Cortex.
Uka Uka is Aku Aku's wicked twin. The name Uka Uka is Aku Aku backwards written, just because he is the opposite of his twin. Just like him, he is an ancient wizard's voodoo mask. He is also the Chief of Neo Cortex, with whom he is always furious for his perpetual failures: nobody knows why he keeps on keeping him by his side, despite having made various attempts to kill him.
Many centuries ago, Aku Aku trapped him in a prison in the jungle to save the world from his perfidy, but when Crash distroyed Cortex's space base in Crash Bandicoot 2, the pieces distroyed Uka Uka's prison, liberating him another time: in the intro of Crash 3 you can just see Uka Uka escaping from prison.
Uka's voodoo roots refer to the symbol of cosmos intended as a whole. Voodoo has a twofold nature: on the one hand, it is spiritual, on the other, it is material.
Uka Uka is a segret energy present in all things and manifests itself to mankind through deep rituals, rich in esoteric symbolisms. Those rituals allow mankind to overstep certain limits. Voodoo celebrations, and therefore Uka Uka's action, aim to exorcize the hard luck. This mask is not a negative figure, but assumes a connotation of charm that dispels evil influences.

Why Uka Uka Racing?
The evocative name Uka Uka, presaging of the adventurous spirit and peculiar prerogative of Uka Uka Racing, was born from an idea of Matteo Santini, the team shipowner's son.
Playing Play Station, Matteo reached the end of the game and more exactly the tenth level: he destroyed Cortex's space base and liberated Uka Uka. In that moment of special euphoria, he chose the name of Uka Uka Racing.
The grit and the determination of this monster, voodoo mask of an ancient wizard, well represent the bold profile and the depth of the sailing team which bears this name.
